The Despised Black Dragon Is the True Queen
Serafina, the true gold dragon princess, was cursed black at birth after Ravenna killed Queen Marina and was raised in contempt on Black Dragon Island. At court she repeatedly saves the kingdom while Princess Leyla takes credit using a fake gold potion. As battles wear the curse down, Leyla's fraud surfaces. Ravenna then accuses Black Dragon Island of treason, yet Serafina endures, breaks the curse, repels a Northern invasion, reunites with her father, and is crowned Queen after Ravenna's execution.
