Late Encounter, Lasting Joy, Season 4

Xu Wanning and Chi Yao had loved each other for four years. Just as they were discussing marriage, she broke up with him and disappeared, leaving him shattered. Five years later they meet again at a dinner, where his cold distance barely conceals his lingering resentment. When her seriously ill mother comes to the capital for treatment, Xu Wanning learns that Chi Yao now has a fiancée. As their lives become entangled again, he discovers that she once took the blame to protect his aerospace career. After her mother dies suddenly following humiliation by Chi family elders, Chi Yao publicly breaks off his engagement and insists on reopening the old case. Xu Wanning, a lawyer, takes on a chemical plant over its wastewater discharge and faces relentless threats. Pressured by Chi Yao's father through the family, she tearfully agrees to a flash marriage with Su He. On the day they register, Chi Yao runs across the road to stop her and is hit by a car — will he wake up?
